Liquid-Filling Machine Manufacturer Plans to Expand – Inside INdiana Business

A La Porte-based manufacturer is looking to grow its operations. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report E-PAK Machinery Inc. is looking to add 30,000 square feet of space near LaPorte Municipal Airport, which could create 10 new jobs over the next two years.

E-PAK manufactures liquid-filling machines for both food and non-food products. President Tony Swedersky tells the publication the company has seen increasing demand, driven most recently by a need for machines that can bottle sanitizers and disinfectants.

“The demand right now that we have for space is very painful because of that uptick,” Swedersky said.

The LaPorte County Council is considering a measure to put the facility into an economic into an economic revitalization zone, which would allow the company to receive a 10-year tax abatement for the project, according to The Times. 

Tony Rodriguez, executive director of the LaPorte County Office for Economic and Community Development, says the company could add more jobs after two years as a result of the expansion.

“I just don’t know how to begin,” some moan. “I hate staring at that empty screen and that #%#^$% blinking cursor,” snap others. “I know exactly what I want to say, but I can’t get started,” complain a few. Fortunately, there’s a simple workaround....
