Huge untapped market for Indian pharma equipment makers in Bangladesh: EEPC India Chairman | Indiablooms - First Portal on Digital News Management

Dhaka: India met 8.2 percent of Bangladesh’s import of pharma machinery as of 2020 and there lies a huge untapped market for India which is yet to be explored, according to EEPC India Chairman Mahesh Desai.

India needs to work more and intensify its trading agreement with Bangladesh, Desai said as Asia Pharma 2022 kicked off today in Dhaka.

Desai noted that this is an excellent opportunity to meet the decision-makers, top management, regulatory authorities, consultants, and pharma equipment industry, professionals.

Nazmul Hassan, Member of Parliament (MP), Bangladesh was the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony of Asia Pharma 2022. Major General Mohammad Yousuf, Director General, Directorate General of Drug Administration was present as a special guest on the occasion.

Dr Pramyesh Basall, Second Secretary at Indian High Commission, Dhaka attended the inaugural ceremony. 

This year over 650 exhibiting companies from 31 countries and over 12,800 trade visitors are expected to participate in the mega pharma show scheduled on May 19-21 in Dhaka.

EEPC India has led a contingent of Indian pharma machinery manufacturers to the 13th edition of the mega pharma show.

The Asia Pharma 2022 will feature the complete range of all the segments required for the pharmaceutical industry with special pavilions on pharma processing & packaging machinery, API manufacturing plants and machinery, analytical & biotech lab equipment, pharma formulations and contract manufacturing among others.

The fifth-largest producer of drugs and pharmaceuticals after the USA, Japan, Europe, and China, India has emerged as a single-point resource for pharma machinery and engineering equipment in the world pharma market.

India is slowly turning into a ‘Pharma Capital’ of the world. The regulatory standards fulfilling steep parameters are ensuring very high-quality pharma production complying with the international regulations.

EEPC India Executive Director Suranjan Gupta said, "The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most technologically advanced sectors currently in existence in Bangladesh. Asia Pharma 2022 is the right platform for Indian manufacturers and suppliers to showcase their technologies and increase trade."
